Crucifixion Group of St. Georgen

The request of the cantor Frau Drese for a picture for the concert on Good Friday on 22/04/2011, a musical way of the cross, resulted in this triptych. During the concert it was displayed in the church of St. Georgen in Waren, Müritz.

For this, sculptures of the 14th century were the source of inspiration.

The sculpturally conceived depiction of the figures on the side panels is raised deliberately in order to draw the focus on the gestures of mourning and worship. The panel in the middle portrays the crucified in bright, vivid colours.
